नई दिल्ली | [कोर्ट बुलेटिन] | सीबीआई के पूर्व निदेशक और पूर्व IPS अधिकारी एम नागेश्वर राव की एक याचिका दिल्ली हाईकोर्ट ने मंगलवार को खारिज कर दी। जिसमें उन्होंने अपने ट्विटर अकाउंट पर ब्लू टिक को बहाल करने की मांग की थी। साथ ही उन पर 10 हजार रुपये का जुर्माना भी लगाया गया।
दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट के जज यशवंत वर्मा ने कहा कि याचिकाकर्ता एम नागेश्वर राव को पिछले महीने ट्विटर से संपर्क करके अपनी समस्या सुलझाने के लिए कहा था। बावजूद इसके फिर से उन्होंने अदालत का दरवाजा खटखटाया। 17 अप्रैल को भी न्यायमूर्ति वर्मा ने राव की उसी याचिका पर हस्तक्षेप करने से इनकार कर दिया था और उनसे ट्विटर के सामने अपनी शिकायतें उठाने को कहा था।
अदालत ने मंगलवार को टिप्पणी की, “हमने पिछली याचिका एक आदेश पारित किया था। आपको तुरंत अदालत का दरवाजा खटखटाने की क्या जरूरत पड़ गई? आपके मुवक्किल के पास बहुत खाली समय है। क्या आप हमसे रिटर्न गिफ्ट चाहते हैं?”
बता दें कि राव ने 7 अप्रैल को ट्विटर पर ब्लू टिक के लिए फिर से आवेदन किया था। हालांकि, वह इस बात से दुखी थे कि ट्विटर ने आज तक उनके ट्विटर हैंडल से जुड़े वेरिफिकेशन टैग को दोबारा नहीं लगाया। राव के वकील ने मंगलवार को अदालत को बताया कि ट्विटर के साथ उनका आखिरी संवाद 18 अप्रैल को हुआ था और उनका सत्यापन अभी तक बहाल नहीं हुआ है।
उन्होंने अदालत से इस मामले को फिर से सूचीबद्ध करने का अनुरोध किया। अदालत ने, हालांकि, अनुरोध को अस्वीकार कर दिया और याचिका को जुर्माने के साथ खारिज किया। अदालत ने कहा कि इसका कोई औचित्य नहीं है।
रिट याचिका को यह ध्यान में रखते हुए दायर किया जाना चाहिए कि पिछली रिट याचिका का निपटारा 7 अप्रैल को किया गया था। अदालत ने यह भी नोट किया कि ट्विटर को याचिकाकर्ता पर निर्णय लेने के लिए कम से कम उचित समय देना चाहिए।
इसके अलावा, ट्विटर पर ब्लू टिक को बहाल करने की मांग करते हुए राव ने केंद्र सरकार के सूचना मंत्रालय मंत्रालय से भी गुहार लगाई है।
Former Director of CBI reached High Court for blue tick on Twitter, reprimanded
New Delhi | [Court Bulletin] | The Delhi High Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition by former CBI director and former IPS officer M Nageswara Rao. In which he had demanded to restore the blue tick on his Twitter account. Along with this, a fine of Rs 10,000 was also imposed on him.
Delhi High Court judge Yashwant Verma said petitioner M Nageswara Rao was asked last month to resolve his issue by contacting Twitter. Despite this, he again approached the court. On April 17 too, Justice Verma had refused to interfere with Rao’s petition on the same plea and asked him to take up his grievances with Twitter.
The court on Tuesday remarked, “We had passed an order in the previous petition. Why do you need to approach the court immediately? Your client has a lot of free time. Do you want a return gift from us?”
Let us tell you that Rao had reapplied for Blue Tick on Twitter on 7 April. However, he was unhappy that Twitter has not reinstated the verification tag attached to his Twitter handle till date. Rao’s counsel told the court on Tuesday that his last communication with Twitter was on April 18 and his verification has not yet been restored.
He requested the court to re-list the matter. The court, however, rejected the request and dismissed the petition with fine. The court said that there was no justification for this.
The writ petition should be filed keeping in mind that the previous writ petition was disposed of on 7th April. The court also noted that Twitter should at least give reasonable time to decide on the petitioner.
Apart from this, Rao has also appealed to the Union Ministry of Information, seeking restoration of blue ticks on Twitter.
