तिरुवनंतपुरम | [केरल बुलेटिन] | एशिया का नोबेल पुरस्कार रेमन मैगसेसे लेने से केरल की पूर्व स्वास्थ्य मंत्री और CPI (M) की वरिष्ठ नेता केके शैलजा ने इनकार कर दिया है। स्वास्थ्य मंत्री रहते हुए केके शैलजा ने निपाह वायरस और कोरोना वायरस से लड़ने में बड़ी भूमिका निभाई थी। निपाह हो या कोरोना सबसे पहले केरल में ही अटैक कर रहा था। बावजूद इसके केके शैलजे के नेतृत्व में केरल ने वायरस के खिलाफ प्रभावी ढंग से जंग लड़ी थी।
उन्होंने खुद बताया कि मैगसेसे अवॉर्ड कमिटी की तरफ से उनके पास पत्र आया था। लेकिन पार्टी की सदस्य के रूप में उन्होंने केंद्रीय समिति के साथ चर्चा की और फैसला किया गया कि यह अवॉर्ड नहीं लेना है। उन्होंने यह स्पष्ट नहीं किया कि पार्टी ने किस वजह से मैग्सेसे जैसे प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कार को लेने पर रोक लगा दी।
जानकारी के मुताबिक ईमेल से अवॉर्ड कमिटी ने जानकारी दी थी कि उनका नाम पुरस्कार के लिए चयनित किया गया है। समिति ने उनसे इसके लिए स्वीकृति मांगी थी।
सीपीएम में फैसले को लेकर नाराजगी भी
सूत्रों का कहना है कि पार्टी यह मानती है कि केके शैलजा सरकार की तरफ से सौंपा गया उत्तरदायित्व निभा रही थी। इसलिए व्यक्तिगत रूप से इसका श्रेय उन्हें नहीं लेना चाहिए। पार्टी का मानना है कि यह एक सामूहिक प्रयास था। कहा यह भी जा रहा है कि सीपीएम के इस फैसले से कुछ नेता नाराज भी हैं। संजीव थॉमस ने कहा कि विजयन अपने अलावा किसी और को हाइलाइट होता नहीं देखा चाहते। पार्टी ने जो फैसला किया है इसके लिए उसे पछताना पड़ेगा।
किसे मिलता है रेमन मैगसेसे पुरस्कार
यह पुरस्कार उन लोगों को दिया जाता है, जिन्होंने एशिया के लोगों की नि:स्वार्थ सेवा की है। पुरस्कार फाउंडेशन के अध्यक्ष ऑरेलियो मोंटिनोला तृतीय ने कहा, विजेताओं ने तमाम चुनौतियों का सामना करते हुए ऐसे काम किए हैं जो प्रेरणादायक हैं। इसे एशिया का नोबेल पुरस्कार कहा जाता है। यह पुरस्कार देकर फिलिपीन्स के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति रेमन मैगसेसे को श्रद्धांजलि दी जाती है। उन्हीं के सम्मान में 1957 में इस पुरस्कार की शुरुआत की गई थी।
