नई दिल्ली | [कोर्ट बुलेटिन] | दिल्ली की राऊज एवेन्यू कोर्ट की स्पेशल सीबीआई अदालत ने शुक्रवार को आय से अधिक संपत्ति मामले में दोषी करार दिए गए हरियाणा के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री ओम प्रकाश चौटाला को 4 साल कैद की सुजा सुनाई है।
आय से अधिक संपति अर्जित करने के मामले में हरियाणा के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री ओम प्रकाश चौटाला को चार साल की जेल की सजा सुनाई गई है। इसके साथ ही अदालत ने चौटाला पर 50 लाख रुपये का जुर्माना भी लगाया है। अदालत ने चौटाला की चार संपतियों को जब्त करने के भी निर्देशदिए हैं।
अदालत ने पिछले सप्ताह दिया था दोषी करार
विशेष न्यायाधीश विकास ढुल ने वर्ष 1993 से 2006 के दौरान आय से अधिक संपत्ति अर्जित करने के दोषी करार दिए गए ओम प्रकाश चौटाला और सीबीआई के वकीलों की ओर से गुरुवार को सजा पर बहस सुनने के बाद फैसला शुक्रवार तक के लिए सुरक्षित रख लिया था। इस दौरान चौटाला ने अदालत से बुढ़ापे और बीमारी के आधार पर कम से कम सजा देने का अनुरोध किया था। अदालत ने पिछले सप्ताह चौटाला को दोषी करार देते हुए कहा कि था वह आय के ज्ञात स्रोत से अधिक संपत्ति हासिल करने का संतोषजनक हिसाब देने में असफल रहे।
सीबीआई ने 2005 में दर्ज किया था केस
सीबीआई ने चौटाला के खिलाफ वर्ष 2005 में मामला दर्ज किया था। एजेंसी ने 26 मार्च 2010 में दाखिल चार्जशीट में आरोप लगाया था कि चौटाला ने वर्ष 1993 से 2006 के बीच वैध आय से अधिक संपत्ति बनाई। सीबीआई द्वारा दर्ज एफआईआर के मुताबिक, चौटाला ने 24 जुलाई 1999 से पांच मई 2005 तक हरियाणा का मुख्यमंत्री रहते हुए परिवार और अन्य के साथ साठगांठ कर आय के ज्ञात स्रोत से अधिक चल व अचल संपत्ति अर्जित की। यह संपत्ति चौटाला और उनके परिवार के सदस्यों के नाम पर अर्जित की गई।
सीबीआई के मुताबिक, चौटाला ने आय से 6.09 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक संपत्ति अर्जित की जो उनके ज्ञात आय के स्रोत से 189.11 प्रतिशत अधिक थी।

Former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala has been sentenced to four years in jail for acquiring disproportionate assets. Along with this, the court has also imposed a fine of Rs 50 lakh on Chautala. The court has also directed confiscation of four properties of Chautala.
The court had convicted last week
Special Judge Vikas Dhul had reserved the verdict till Friday after hearing arguments on the sentence on Thursday by the counsel for Om Prakash Chautala and CBI, who were convicted of amassing disproportionate assets during the years 1993 to 2006. During this, Chautala had requested the court to give minimum punishment on the basis of old age and illness. The court last week held Chautala guilty, saying he had failed to give a satisfactory account of having acquired assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
CBI had registered the case in 2005
The CBI had registered a case against Chautala in the year 2005. The agency, in its chargesheet filed on March 26, 2010, had alleged that Chautala had amassed disproportionate assets between 1993 and 2006. According to the FIR registered by the CBI, Chautala had acquired movable and immovable assets disproportionate to his known source of income in connivance with family and others while he was the Chief Minister of Haryana from July 24, 1999 to May 5, 2005. This property was acquired in the name of Chautala and his family members.
According to the CBI, Chautala amassed assets worth over Rs 6.09 crore which was 189.11 per cent more than his known source of income.
