परिचय– मुंबई.
वर्तमान समय को प्लाटिक युग कहा जाए तो ग़लत न होगा। हम चारों ओर प्लास्टिक से ही तो घिरे हैं। प्लास्टिक हमारे लिए गंभीर समस्या ही नहीं हमारे अंत का कारण भी बन सकता है। दुनिया में हर रोज़ 8 टन प्लास्टिक का निर्माण होता है जिसका एक बड़ा हिस्सा समुन्द्र की गोद में समा रहा है।
हमारे दैनिक जीवन में दाखिल हो चुके यह प्लास्टिक समुद्र, नदियां, तालाब और महासागरों को अपनी चपेट में ले रहा है। सस्ता, टिकाऊ , उपलब्धता के कारण ये एक अभिशाप बनता जा रहा है।
प्लास्टिक पेट्रोलियम पदार्थों के तत्व और रसायनों के इस्तेमाल से बनाया जाता है। इसे फेंकने के बाद इसमें रासायनिक क्रियाएं होती है और प्लास्टिक के कुल कचरे का 15 प्रतिशत जाकर समुद्रों में मिलता है। इससे न सिर्फ जलीय-जीव प्रभावित हो रहे हैं, बल्कि हम इंसान पर भी असर पड़ रहा है।
यह समुद्रों और महासागरों में मौजूद नमक में भी जहर घोल रहा है,क्योंकि प्लास्टिक समुद्रों में जाकर तापमान की वजह से जहरीले पदार्थों के लिए चुंबक बन जाता है।
50 प्रतिशत कछुए प्लास्टिक खाने की वजह से मर जाते हैं। हम सब को निजी स्तर पे ठोस क़दम उठाने की ज़रूरत है और प्लास्टिक हमें पूरी तरह से बंद करना होगा।

It would not be wrong if the present time is called the Platic Age. We are surrounded by plastic all around. Plastic can not only become a serious problem for us but also cause of our end. Every day 8 tons of plastic is produced in the world, a large part of which is being absorbed in the lap of the sea.
This plastic which has entered our daily life is taking the seas, rivers, ponds and oceans in its grip. Due to its cheap, durable, availability, it is becoming a curse.
Plastics are made from the use of petroleum substances and chemicals. After it is thrown, chemical reactions take place in it and 15 percent of the total plastic waste goes into the oceans. This is affecting not only the aquatic life, but we humans are also affected.
It is also dissolving poison in the salt present in the seas and oceans, because the plastic becomes a magnet for toxic substances due to the temperature in the oceans.
50% of turtles die from eating plastic. We all need to take concrete steps at the personal level and we have to stop plastic completely.
