थोड़ी देर में सुधीर जूही की गाड़ी के पास स्टेशन से बाहर आया जहा वो उसका इंतजार कर रहा था। मैडम आप चले मैं अपनी बाइक से आता हूं उसने जूही से अनुरोध किया।

तुम्हारी बाइक मेरा ड्राइवर ले आएगा अगर तुम मेरी गाड़ी चला सकते हो तो बोलो चला लोगे। जूही ने पूछा।

जी मैडम मैं फोर व्हीलर भी चला लेता हूं सुधीर ने जवाब दिया।

ठीक है फिर उसने अपने ड्राइवर से कहा – रामु तुम सुधीर की बाइक लेकर मेरे निवास पर लगाकर अपने घर चले जाना मैं सुधीर के साथ जिला जा रही हूं दो तीन घंटे में लौट आऊंगी। डी डी सी साहब से उनके निवास पर मिलना है।

ठीक है मैडम रामु ने कहा और सुधीर से उसकी बाइक की चाबी लेकर चला गया।सुधीर अब ड्राइविंग सीट पर आकर बैठ गया और गाड़ी स्टार्ट कर आगे बढ़ा दिया।

सुधीर को चुपचाप गाड़ी चलाता देख जूही ने पूछा तुम चुप क्यों हो। लगता है मेरी डांट से नाराज हो गए हो। जूही सामने वाली सीट पर सुधीर के बगल में बैठी हुई थी।

अरे नहीं मैडम मैं आपसे क्यों नाराज होने लगा। सुधीर ने जवाब दिया।

और पूछोगे नहीं हम दोनों कहा जा रहे है। जूही ने पूछा। पूछना क्या है मैडम अभी तो आपने बताया न हमलोग जिला जा रहे हैं डीडीसी साहब के निवास पर। वैसे भी आप जहा चलेंगी मैं तो आपका ड्राइवर बन ही चुका हूं सुधीर ने कहा।

इतना सुनते ही जूही जोर जोर से हंसने लगी। अरे नहीं मैं तुम्हे अपना ड्राइवर क्यों बनाऊंगी। दरअसल मैं डीडीसी साहब के यहां तुम्हारे लिए ही जा रही हूं। साथ ही आज मैं तुम्हारे साथ अकेले में बिताना चाहती हूं।तुमसे अपने बारे में और तुम्हारे बारे में बात करना चाहती हूं। जूही ने गंभीर होकर कहा।

सुधीर मैंने सुना है जिला में सीटी पार्क बहुत सुंदर है और संडे को बड़ी भीड़ भाड़ रहती है। वहा एक रेस्टुरेंट भी है। साहब से मिलकर हम दोनो वही चलेंगे और साथ में खाना खायेंगे।मगर चिंता मत करो सारा खर्चा मैं करूंगी।

ऐसी बात नहीं मैडम शुबह में तीन चार ट्रेनें आती है। आज मैं पांच सौ रुपए की कमाई कर चुका हूं।इतने रूपए में तो आपको खिला ही सकता हूं।

अच्छा तो तुम अपनी सारी कमाई मुझ पर खर्च दोगे तो घर जाकर अपनी मां को क्या दोगे।इतना कहकर जूही हसने लगी।

सुधीर कुछ नहीं बोला। नाराज मत होना मैं तो मजाक कर रही थी। मां से याद आया तुम अपनी मां के फोन कर बता दो की तुम मेरे साथ जिला जा रहे हो चिंता न करें।जूही ने सुधीर को याद दिलाया।

सुधीर ने अपनी मां को फोन कर सब बता दिया।

सुधीर बताओ तुम दिन भर में कितना कमा लेते हो जूही ने पूछा।तुमसे हिस्सा लेने के लिए नहीं बस ऐसे ही जानकारी के लिए पूछी।जूही ने हंसते हुए पूछा।

मैडम कोई फिक्स आमदनी नहीं होती है। कभी पांच सौ कभी रात में एक दो सवारी मिल गई तो उसका भाड़ा पांच सौ से हजार रूपए मिल जाता है। औसतन हजार पांच सौ कभी दो तीन सौ पर ही गुजारा करना पड़ता है सुधीर ने कहा।

मतलब महीने का बीस पच्चीस हजार कमा लेते हो।जूही ने हिसाब लगाते हुए कहा। जी मेडम बस यही समझ लीजिए सुधीर ने कहा।

लेकिन मैं चाहती हूं तुम पुलिस ऑफिसर बनने से पहले महीने का एक डेढ़ लाख कमाई कर लो।

चाय बेचना और रात में अपनी बाइक से सवारी ढोना बंद कर दो।इसमें जान का भी जोखिम है। जैसे उस रात हुआ। जूही ने चिंता व्यक्त करते हुए कहा।

मैं तुम्हारी ईमानदारी बहादुरी शराफत और मेहनत से बहुत प्रभावित हूं सुधीर। तुमने उस रात अंजान जगह में मेरी जान ही नहीं इज्जत भी बचाई और मेरा साथ दिया इस दरम्यान तुम काफी घायल भी हो गए। तुम्हारी जान भी जा सकती थी।जूही ने अपनी चिंता जाहिर करते हुए कहा।

मेडम उस रात आप मेरी सवारी थी। आपने मुझ पर लड़की होकर भरोसा किया।मैं आपका भरोसा कैसे तोड़ सकता था। और फिर ये तो मेरा धंधा भी था। मैं अपने धंधे से बेईमानी कैसे कर सकता था। उस रात आपकी जगह कोई और सवारी होती तो भी उसके लिए वैसे ही लड़ता जैसे आपके लिए लड़ा और आपकी मदद किया।यह तो आपका बड़प्पन है जो मुझे इतना सम्मान दे रही हैं।सुधीर ने अपना विचार प्रकट करते हुए कहा।

इसलिए तो मैं तुमसे प्रभावित हूं।जूही ने उसकी तरफ देखते हुए कहा।

अब तुम मेरी योजना सुनो जो तुम्हारे लिए बनाई है।पहली तो यह की एक सवारी गाड़ी तुम्हे बैंक से लोन लेकर दिलवा दूं जो दिन भर स्टेशन से शहर तक सवारी ढोते रहेगी तुम एक ड्राइवर रख लेना। इससे यात्रियों को भी सुविधा मिलेगी और तुम्हे आमदनी भी होगी। दूसरा की यदि तुम चाहो तो तुम ब्लॉक और जिला का टेंडर लेकर काम कर सकते हो।

मेरे यहां बहुत सारी योजनाएं चलती है कई लोग ठिका का काम करते है जैसे भवन निर्माण,सड़क निर्माण,चेक डेम कुंआ तालाब आदि। इससे तुम्हे काफी आमदनी हो सकती है। मुझे विश्वास है तुम पूरी ईमानदारी से काम करोगे और मेरे रहते तुम्हे किसी को एक रुपया कमीसन भी नहीं देना होगा।तीसरी योजना है की यदि डीडीसी साहब चाहेंगे तो तुम्हे जिला कार्यालय में कांट्रेक्ट पर अच्छी जॉब दिला सकते है।जब तक तुम करना चाहो कर सकते हो। फिर तुम्हारी पुलिस में नियुक्ति होते ही सब छोड़ सकते हो।

जूही ने अपनी योजना सुनाते हुए कहा।

अब तुम बोलो तुम्हारी क्या योजना है जूही ने सुधीर से पूछा।

जी मैडम मैं क्या बोलूं। चाय दुकान तो आपने बंद ही करा दिया है। मुझे अपने परिवार के लिए कुछ न कुछ तो करना ही पड़ेगा। आपको जैसा उचित लगे करे।सुधीर ने हामी भरते हुए कहा।

एक बात और मेरी एक बड़ी खराब आदत है सुधीर मैं जिसको मानती हूं अगर उसने मेरी बात नहीं मानी तो मेरा गुस्सा आ जाता हैं जैसे आज आया और तुमने मेरी डांट सुन लिया। अब आगे से ध्यान रखना। जूही ने हंसते हुए कहा।

जी ठीक है मैडम सुधीर ने धीरे से कहा।

बातो ही बातो मे दोनो कब जिला पहुंच गए पता ही नहीं चला।

जूही ने सुधीर को डीडीसी साहब से मिलवा दिया।उन्होंने सुधीर का सारा पेपर ऑफिस में जमा करने को कहा और आश्वाशन दिया कि यथा संभव मदद करेंगे।

इसके बाद दोनो सिटी पार्क चले गए दोनो ने साथ खाना खाया। फिर दोनों गुलाबो की खूबसूरत क्यारियों को देखते हुए पूरे पार्क का आनंद लेने लगे।

After a while Sudhir came out of the station near Juhi’s car where he was waiting for her. Madam you go, I will come on my bike, he requested Juhi.
