This insectivorous plant was found for the first time, the team of Forest Research Center made shocking revelations after research

Haridwar | [Uttarakhand Bulletin] | For the first time, a research team from the Forest Research Center in the Western Himalayas has found the rare insectivorous plant Utricularia fersillata. The team prepared a research paper in the matter. JRF Manoj Singh and Ranger Harish Negi of Gopeshwar Range team of Forest Research Center found a sapling in the high Himalayan region at a height of about two feet near Mandal Valley in Chamoli district last September. The research paper has also been published by the Journal of Japanese Botany.

After studying in detail about this plant of 2-4 cm, shocking facts came to the fore. The most important fact is Utricularia fursillata is an insectivorous plant. This plant eats the larvae of insects and gets nitron from them. Earlier this insectivorous plant was found in Northeast India.

JRF Manoj Singh said that since 1986, this plant has not been seen anywhere in the country. The flowers of this plant bloom only in the rainy season. Dr. SK Singh, Joint Director BSI Dehradun gave special help to the team in gathering information about the plant and preparing the research paper.

little plant of great use

The insectivorous plant Utricularia fursillata found in the western Himalayan region may be small in appearance, but its role in strengthening the environment is important. JRF Manoj told that insects and insects which damage the plants, eat them before they grow. This keeps their numbers under control. Otherwise, there would have been an abundance of insects causing damage to many vegetation of the high Himalayan region. At the same time, this plant also helps in purifying the water.

For the first time, insectivorous plant Utricularia fersillata has been found in the Western Himalayas, this plant is rare. By eating the larvae of insects and insects, it plays an important role in balancing the ecology.
