कोलकाता | [पश्चिम बंगाल बुलेटिन] | राष्ट्रपति चुनाव में आदिवासी द्रौपदी मुर्मू को एनडीए ने अपना उम्मीदवार बनाया है। इस फैसले से विपक्ष की बड़ी नेता व पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी को पशोपेश में डाल दिया। द्रौपदी मुर्मू का आदिवासी होना ही ममता बनर्जी के लिए एक मुश्किल सवाल बन गया है। इसके पीछे है पश्चिम बंगाल का आदिवासी वोट बैंक।
मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी के डर की वजह है पश्चिम बंगाल में आदिवासी वोट बैंक। असल में बंगाल में कुल 7 से 8 फीसदी आदिवासी वोटर हैं। जंगलमहल के चार विधानसभा क्षेत्रों, जिसमें बांकुरा, पुरुलिया, झाड़ग्राम और पश्चिमी मिदनापुर जिलों में भी इनकी संख्या काफी है।
इसमें पश्चिमी बंगाल के जिलों जैसे दार्जिलिंग, कलिमपांग, अलीपुरदुआर, जलपाईगुड़ी, कूचबिहार, उत्तरी और दक्षिणी दिनाजपीर और मालदह को शामिल कर लें तो कुल आदिवासी वोटरों की संख्या 25 फीसदी तक पहुंच जाती है। बंगाल की आदिवासी आबादी में संथालियों की संख्या 80 फीसदी से अधिक है।
सबसे खास बात यह है कि द्रौपदी मुर्मू भी संथाल समुदाय से ताल्लुक रखती हैं। 2019 के लोकसभा चुनाव में भाजपा ने टीएमसी के 22 सीटों के मुकाबले 18 सीटें जीती थीं। तब भाजपा ने जंगलमहल की सभी सीटों पर और पश्विमी बंगाल की छह सीटों पर जीत हासिल की थी। हालांकि साल 2021 के विधानसभा चुनाव में टीएमसी ने इसका हिसाब चुकता कर लिया था।
वहीं दूसरी तरफ ममता के हालिया बयान से विपक्षी एकता में संदेह के बादल मंडराने लगे हैं। कांग्रेस के बंगाल अध्यक्ष अधीर रंजन चौधरी ने कहा कहा कि ममता ने ऐसा कहकर कुछ नया नहीं किया है। वह पहले भी राष्ट्रपति चुनाव से पहले अपना मन बदल चुकी हैं।
गौरतलब है कि जब यूपीए ने प्रणब मुखर्जी को अपना राष्ट्रपति उम्मीदवार बनाया था तब आखिरी मौके पर ममता ने प्रणब मुखर्जी का समर्थन करने का फैसला लिया था। बंगाल सीपीआई-एम के नेता सृजन चक्रवर्ती ने कहा कि ममता ने हमेशा डबल स्टैंडर्ड दिखाया है।
एक तरफ तो उन्होंने अपना नेतृत्व दिखाने के लिए आनन-फानन में विपक्ष की मीटिंग बुलाकर यशवंत सिन्हा को राष्ट्रपति उम्मीदवार बना दिया। वहीं दूसरी तरफ अब वो एनडीए के उम्मीदवार के जीत की संभावना बता रही हैं। इन सबके बीच एक वरिष्ठ टीएमसी नेता ने कहा कि ममता ने द्रौपदी मुर्मू को लेकर यह बयान सिर्फ इसलिए दिया है, ताकि राज्य के आदिवासी समुदाय में उनकी पकड़ बनी रहे।
ममता की परेशानी में और इजाफा किया है उनके कट्टर प्रतिद्वंदी और विपक्ष के नेता सुवेंदु अधिकारी ने। सुवेंदु हुल दिवस के मौके पर प्रदेश के जंगलमहल इलाके में आयोजित कई कार्यक्रमों में मौजूद रहे। हुल दिवस 1855 में हुई संथाल क्रांति के उपलक्ष में मनाया जाता है।
इस दौरान उन्होंने भाजपा द्वारा एक आदिवासी महिला को राष्ट्रपति उम्मीदवार बनाए जाने की बात का जमकर प्रचार-प्रसार किया। सिर्फ इतना ही नहीं सुवेंदु अधिकारी ने यह भी कहा कि एक तरफ नरेंद्र मोदी की राष्ट्रपति उम्मीदवार द्रौपदी मुर्मू हैं तो दूसरी तरफ ममता बनर्जी के राष्ट्रपति उम्मीदवार यशवंत सिन्हा हैं। उन्होंने यह भी घोषणा की कि मुर्मू की जीत के बाद वह उनसे रिक्वेस्ट करेंगे कि वह जंगलमहल आएं।
ममता बनर्जी ने हाल ही में कहा था कि अगर भाजपा ने पहले बताया कि वह किसी आदिवासी महिला को राष्ट्रपति उम्मीदवार बना रहे हैं तो उसके निर्विरोध चुनाव के लिए प्रयास करतीं लेकिन इस बार की कहानी कुछ अलग ही है।
यह ममता बनर्जी ही हैं, जिन्होंने जोर देकर पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री यशवंत सिन्हा को विपक्ष का संयुक्त उम्मीदवार बनवाया लेकिन एनडीए द्वारा द्रौपदी मुर्मू के रूप में आदिवासी महिला को राष्ट्रपति के लिए दावेदार बना देने से ममता का गणित गड़बड़ाता नजर आ रहा है।

If this includes districts of West Bengal such as Darjeeling, Kalimpang, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, North and South Dinajpir and Maldah, the total number of tribal voters reaches 25 percent. Santhals constitute more than 80 per cent of the tribal population of Bengal.
The most important thing is that Draupadi Murmu also belongs to the Santhal community. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had won 18 seats against TMC’s 22. Then the BJP had won all the seats in Jangalmahal and six seats in West Bengal. However, in the 2021 assembly elections, TMC had cleared its account.
On the other hand, Mamta’s recent statement has raised doubts in opposition unity. Congress Bengal President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said that Mamata has not done anything new by saying this. She has already changed her mind before the presidential election.
It is worth noting that when the UPA had made Pranab Mukherjee its presidential candidate, Mamata had decided to support Pranab Mukherjee at the last moment. Bengal CPI-M leader Srijan Chakraborty said that Mamata has always shown a double standard.
On the one hand, he hastily called a meeting of the opposition to show his leadership and made Yashwant Sinha the presidential candidate. On the other hand, now she is telling the possibility of NDA candidate’s victory. Amidst all this, a senior TMC leader said that Mamta has given this statement about Draupadi Murmu only so that she remains in the tribal community of the state.
Adding to Mamata’s troubles is her arch rival and Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari. Suvendu was present in many programs organized in the Junglemahal area of the state on the occasion of Hull Day. Hull Day is celebrated to commemorate the 1855 Santhal Revolution.
During this, he fiercely campaigned for the BJP to make a tribal woman its presidential candidate. Not only this, Suvendu Adhikari also said that on one side there is Draupadi Murmu, the presidential candidate of Narendra Modi, and on the other side is Yashwant Sinha, the presidential candidate of Mamta Banerjee. He also announced that after Murmu’s victory he would request him to come to Junglemahal.
Mamata Banerjee had recently said that if the BJP had earlier told that it was making a tribal woman its presidential candidate, it would have tried for her unopposed election, but this time the story is different.
It is Mamata Banerjee who insisted that former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha be made the joint opposition candidate, but Mamata’s math seems to be messed up with the NDA making a tribal woman as Draupadi Murmu a contender for President.
