राज्य स्वास्थ्य विभाग के डॉक्टर सुभाष मिश्रा ने इस बात की पुष्टि की है कि 3 महीने की बच्ची को पोलियो का टीका दिया गया था, जिसके बाद माता-पिता ने आधा घंटा इंतजार किया और फिर उसे घर लेकर चले गए। जब बच्ची में किसी तरह की कोई हरकत नहीं हुई तो वे उसे लेकर अस्पताल आए। यहां डॉक्टरों से उसे मृत घोषित कर दिया।
बच्ची के शव को पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेज दिया गया है ताकि मौत की असली वजह का पता चल सके। डॉ. मिश्रा ने कहा कि हम रिपोर्ट का इंतजार कर रहे हैं ताकि उचित कार्रवाई की जा सके।
जानकारी के अनुसार, जगदल्ला के रहने वाले खगेश चक्रधारी अपनी तीन महीने की नवजात बच्ची को लेकर भुरकोनी के आंगनबाड़ी केंद्र पहुंचे थे। ग्रामीण स्वास्थ्य समन्वयक ने उसे पोलियो का टीका लगाया और पोलियो ड्रॉप पिलाई।
इसके बाद जब बच्ची ने कोई हरकत नहीं की तो माता-पिता उसे लेकर प्राथमिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्र पहुंचे लेकिन वहां उसका इलाज नहीं हुआ। बच्ची को यहां से पिथोरा के सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्र रेफर कर दिया गया जहां डॉक्टर ने उसे मृत घोषित कर दिया।
