रायपुर | [छत्तीसगढ़ बुलेटिन] | प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने शुक्रवार को पहला स्वदेशी विमान वाहक पोत ‘आईएनएस विक्रांत’ नौ सेना को समर्पित कर दिया। इस उपलब्धि में छत्तीसगढ़ का भी बड़ा योगदान है। दुर्ग जिले में स्थित स्टील अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया लिमिटेड (सेल) की ध्वजवाहक इकाई भिलाई इस्पात संयंत्र (BSP) की विशेष प्लेटों से भारत का पहला स्वदेशी विमान वाहक युद्धपोत आईएनएस विक्रांत तैयार किया गया है।
बता दें कि सेल की भिलाई इस्पात संयंत्र सहित बोकारो संयंत्र और राउरकेला संयंत्र की इकाई ने मिलकर आईएनएस विक्रांत के निर्माण के लिए 30 हजार टन डीएमआर ग्रेड का विशेष लोहा सप्लाई किया है। नौसेना की शिपयार्ड में बनने वाले युद्ध पोतों के लिए भिलाई इस्पात संयंत्र ने विशेष रूप से DMR- 249 ग्रेड के प्लेटों की सप्लाई किया है।
इससे पहले इन प्लेटों की सप्लाई रूस से होती थी, लेकिन प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के मेक इन इंडिया प्रोजेक्ट के तहत भारत में ही अब विशेष प्लेटों को निर्माण किया जा रहा है। भिलाई इस्पात संयंत्र के प्लेट मिल में तैयार युद्ध पोत की प्लेटों को नौ सेना के क्वालिटी कंट्रोल डिपार्टमेंट के अधिकारियों की निगरानी में तैयार किया गया है। यही प्लेटें आईएनएस विक्रांत के ढांचे में लगाया गया है।
भारत के समुद्री इतिहास में अब तक के सबसे बड़े जहाज के निर्माण में भिलाई इस्पात संयंत्र से निर्मित डीएमआर ग्रेड का स्पेशल लोहा लगाया गया है। आईएनएस विक्रांत के निर्माण में लगने वाली विशेष ग्रेड की प्लेटें तैयार करने वाले भिलाई इस्पात संयंत्र के कर्मचारी और कर्मचारी इस उपलब्धि पर गर्व महसूस कर रहा है।
भिलाई, बोकारो व राउरकेला बनीं विशेष प्लेटें
भिलाई इस्पात संयंत्र के महाप्रबंधक (जनसंपर्क) प्रशांत ने बताया कि देश की सुरक्षा, रक्षा, अनुसंधान, परिवहन, रेलवे और विकास में बीएसपी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा रहा है। आईएनएस विक्रांत में डीएमआर ग्रेड के प्लेट्स को सेल ने भारतीय नौसेना और डीएमआरएल के सहयोग से विकसित किया है।
युद्धपोत में ग्रेड 249 ए और उड़ान डेक के लिए ग्रेड 249 बी की डीएमआर प्लेटों का उपयोग किया है। युद्धपोत के बल्ब बार को छोड़कर स्पेशियलिटी स्टील की पूरी आपूर्ति सेल की यूनिट भिलाई इस्पात संयंत्र, बोकारो संयंत्र और राउरकेला इस्पात संयंत्र ने मिलकर की है। आईएनएस विक्रांत को नौ सेना को सौंपने से भिलाई इस्पात संयंत्र बिरादरी भी उत्साहित और गौरवान्वित है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के मेक इन इंडिया के सपने को भिलाई इस्पात संयंत्र साकार कर रहा है।
INS विक्रांत का आकार, प्रकार और रफ्तार
20 हजार करोड़ रुपये की लागत से तैयार हुआ INS विक्रांत 262 मीटर लंबा, 62 मीटर चौड़ा और ऊंचाई 50 मीटर है। इस लिहाज से इसके फ्लाइट डेक का आकार फुटबॉल के 2 मैदानों के बराबर हो जाता है। यह वाहक एक 28 नॉट्स की अधिकतम रफ्तार के साथ एक बार में 7 हजार 500 नॉटिकल मील (करीब 14 हजार किमी) की दूरी तय कर सकता है।
भारत के समुद्री इतिहास में देश में तैयार हुआ यह पहला इतना विशाल जहाज है। खास बात है कि इसका नाम भारत के पहले एयरक्राफ्ट कैरियर के नाम पर ही रखा गया है, जिसने पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ हुए 1971 के युद्ध में अहम भूमिका निभाई थी।
भारत में बना पहला स्वदेशी विमान वाहक युद्ध पोत कोचीन शिपयार्ड में तैयार किया गया है। इस विमान में 1800 क्रू मेंबर के लिए 2300 कपार्टमेंट हैं। वर्तमान में आईएनएस विक्रांत में 30 एयर क्राफ्ट को तैनात किया जाएगा। जिनमे 10 हेलीकॉप्टर और (20) MIG-29 फाइटर प्लेनो को रखा जाएगा।
INS Vikrant’s structure made of steel from Chhattisgarh, ‘DMR’ was supplied from Bhilai

Chhattisgarh also has a big contribution in this achievement. India’s first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant has been made from special plates of Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), the flag carrier unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), located in Durg district.
Let us inform that the unit of Bokaro Plant and Rourkela Plant together with SAIL’s Bhilai Steel Plant have supplied 30 thousand tonnes of DMR grade special iron for the construction of INS Vikrant. Bhilai Steel Plant has specially supplied DMR-249 grade plates for warships being built at Naval Shipyards.
Earlier these plates were supplied from Russia, but under the Make in India project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, now special plates are being manufactured in India itself. The plates of the war ship, prepared at the Plate Mill of Bhilai Steel Plant, have been prepared under the supervision of officers of the Quality Control Department of the Navy. These plates have been installed in the structure of INS Vikrant.
The largest ever ship in the maritime history of India has been made of DMR grade special iron manufactured from Bhilai Steel Plant. The staff and employees of Bhilai Steel Plant, which manufactures the special grade plates used in the construction of INS Vikrant, are proud of this achievement.
Bhilai, Bokaro and Rourkela made special plates
Prashant, General Manager (Public Relations), Bhilai Steel Plant said that BSP is playing an important role in the country’s security, defence, research, transport, railways and development. The DMR grade plates at INS Vikrant have been developed by SAIL in collaboration with the Indian Navy and DMRL.
The battleship uses Grade 249A and Grade 249B DMR plates for the flight deck. The entire supply of specialty steel, except the warship’s bulb bar, has been made jointly by SAIL’s unit Bhilai Steel Plant, Bokaro Plant and Rourkela Steel Plant. The Bhilai Steel Plant fraternity is also excited and proud to hand over INS Vikrant to the Navy. Bhilai Steel Plant is fulfilling the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Make in India.
Size, Type and Speed of INS Vikrant
Built at a cost of Rs 20 thousand crore, INS Vikrant is 262 meters long, 62 meters wide and 50 meters high. In this sense, the size of its flight deck becomes equal to 2 football fields. This carrier can cover a distance of 7 thousand 500 nautical miles (about 14 thousand km) in one go with a maximum speed of 28 knots.
This is the first such huge ship built in the country in the maritime history of India. The special thing is that it is named after India’s first aircraft carrier, which played an important role in the 1971 war against Pakistan.
The first indigenously built aircraft carrier warship in India has been built at the Cochin Shipyard. This aircraft has 2300 compartments for 1800 crew members. Presently 30 aircraft will be deployed at INS Vikrant. In which 10 helicopters and (20) MiG-29 fighter planes will be kept.
