जशपुर | [छत्तीसगढ़ बुलेटिन] | जिले में हाथियों ने एक महिला को सूंड से उठाकर पटक दिया और पैरों से कुचलकर मार डाला। महिला अपने घर के बरामदे में सोई हुई थी, तभी हाथियों ने उस पर हमला कर दिया। हाथियों ने महिला के मकान को भी तोड़ दिया। घर में मौजूद बेटे और बहू ने भागकर अपनी जान बचाई।
हादसे की सूचना के बाद वन विभाग के अफसर व पुलिस की टीम गांव पहुंची। वन विभाग ने हाथियों की मौजूदगी वाले स्थानों में ग्रामीणों को नहीं जाने की मुनादी कराई है और सावधानी बरतने की अपील की है। वहीं निगरानी के लिए वनकर्मी तैनात हैं।
छत्तीसगढ़ में हाथियों का उत्पात थमने का नाम नहीं ले रहा है। डीएफओ जितेंद्र उपाध्याय ने बताया कि घटना छत्तीसगढ़-झारखंड सीमा से लगे दुलदुला ब्लॉक के ग्राम पंचायत सपघरा की है। रात करीब 3 बजे के आसपास हाथियों का दल गांव से गुजरा होगा। झुंड के एक हाथी ने गुरबारी बाई (52 वर्ष) पर हमला कर दिया। हाथी ने महिला को पैर से कुचल दिया, जिससे उसकी मौत हो गई।
उपाध्याय ने बताया कि रात होने के कारण सभी गहरी नींद में सो रहे थे। गुरबारी बाई बरामदे में सोई थी। उसका बेटा और बहू अंदर थे। महिला की चीख-पुकार सुनकर बेटा-बहू बाहर निकले तब हाथी के आने की जानकारी हुई। महिला को दंतैल हाथी ने सूंड़ से उठाकर पटक दिया और पैरों से कुचल दिया। हाथी ने अनाज खाने के लिए घर पर भी धावा बोल दिया।
जिले के अलग-अलग रेंज में 45 से 50 हाथी मौजूद
डीएफओ जितेंद्र उपाध्याय कि घटना की सूचना मिलने पर वन अमला गांव पहुंचा और मृतक के परिजनों को आर्थिक सहायता राशि 25 हजार रुपये का चेक दिया गया है। मुआवजा प्रकरण बनाया जा रहा है। उन्होंने बताया कि हाथियों की मौजूदगी वाले स्थानों से लोगों को दूर रहने मुनादी कराई गई है।
डीएफओ ने बताया कि जिले में करीबन 45 से 50 हाथी मौजूद हैं, जो जिले के अलग-अलग रेंज में विचरण कर रहे हैं। जिस गांव में हाथी ने हमला किया है वह झारखंड की सीमा पर बसा हुआ है।

The elephant riot in Chhattisgarh is not taking its name to stop. DFO Jitendra Upadhyay told that the incident is of village panchayat Sapghara of Duldula block adjoining Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand border. Around 3 o’clock in the night, a group of elephants must have passed through the village. An elephant of the herd attacked Gurbani Bai (52 years old). The elephant crushed the woman with her feet, causing her death.
Upadhyay told that due to night, everyone was sleeping in deep sleep. Gurbani Bai slept in the verandah. His son and daughter-in-law were inside. Hearing the screams of the woman, the son and daughter-in-law came out when the elephant’s arrival came to know. The woman was picked up by the toothless elephant and slammed by the trunk and crushed by her feet. The elephant also ransacked the house to eat the grain.
45 to 50 elephants are present in different ranges of the district
DFO Jitendra Upadhyay, on getting information about the incident, Van Amla reached the village and a check of Rs 25,000 has been given to the relatives of the deceased for financial assistance. Compensation case is being prepared. He said that people have been made to stay away from the places where elephants are present.
The DFO said that about 45 to 50 elephants are present in the district, which are roaming in different ranges of the district. The village where the elephant has attacked is situated on the border of Jharkhand.
