नई दिल्ली | [कोर्ट बुलेटिन] | Document Identification Number: सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने डीआईएन से जुड़ी एक जनहित याचिका की सुनवाई करते हुए केंद्र सरकार को अपना पक्ष रखने का निर्देश दिया है। बता दें कि सुप्रीम कोर्ट में चार्टर्ड अकाउंटेंट प्रदीप गोयल की ओर से इलेक्ट्रॉनिक तरीके से डीआईएन जारी करने की प्रक्रिया लागू करने की मांग करते हुए याचिका लगाई गई थी।
याचिकाकर्ता की ओर से एडवोकेट चारू माथुर ने जस्टिस एमआर शाह और जस्टिज बीवी नागरत्ना की बेंच के सामने अपना पक्ष रखते हुए कहा था कि वर्तमान समय में देश में के सिर्फ दो राज्यों कर्नाटक और केरल में डीआईएन की एक व्यवस्था काम कर रही है। बाकी राज्यों में इसे अब भी अमल में लाया जाना बाकी है।
याचिका में कोर्ट से गुहार लगाते हुए कहा गया कि सभी राज्यों को डीआईएन सिस्टम को अमल में लाने का निर्देश दिया जाए साथ जीएसटी काउंसिल को भी इस संबंध में एक पॉलिशी डिसिजन लेने का निर्देश जारी किया ताकि सभी राज्य इसे अमल में ला सकें।
इसके साथ ही याचिका में यह भी कहा गया है कि केंद्र सरकार को भी यह निर्देश दिया जाना चाहिए कि वह पूरे देश के लिए एक केंन्द्रीकृत डीआईएन की व्यवस्था बनाकर उसे लागू करे।
सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने इस मामले में केंद्र को नोटिस जारी कर अपना पक्ष रखने को कहा है। आपको बता दें कि डीआईएन एक 20 अंकों की पहचान संख्या है जिसका इस्तेमाल सरकार करदाताओं के साथ कम्युनिकेशन करने में करती है।
SC seeks response from Center on the plea to implement centralized DIN in the country
New Delhi | [Court Bulletin] | Document Identification Number: The Supreme Court, while hearing a PIL related to DIN, has directed the Central Government to present its side. Let us inform that a petition was filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of Chartered Accountant Pradeep Goyal, seeking to implement the process of issuing DIN electronically.
Advocate Charu Mathur, appearing for the petitioner, submitted his case before the bench of Justice MR Shah and Justice BV Nagarathna and said that at present only two states of the country, Karnataka and Kerala, have a system of DIN. It is yet to be implemented in other states.
The petition urged the court to direct all the states to implement the DIN system and also directed the GST Council to take a polished decision in this regard so that all the states could implement it.
Along with this, it has also been said in the petition that the Central Government should also be directed to make a system of centralized DIN for the whole country and implement it.
The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Center asking it to present its side in this matter. Let us tell you that DIN is a 20 digit identification number which is used by the government to communicate with the taxpayers.
