Juhi Ki Mehak, Story – Part One

The bitter cold and heavy rain from above had created a lot of shiver in the weather. In such cold and wet weather, the train stopped at that small station trembling for half a year, exhaling steam from its mouth. As soon as the train stopped, Juhi looked at her wristwatch, it was twelve thirty in the night. She quickly picked up her belongings and, getting wet in the rain, reached the bed of the platform inside. It was almost half drenched. It was too cold from above, she started trembling.

Juhi looked around and there were very few people on the platform. He was starting to worry, he had no idea of this new place. He was newly reinstated, he went to his residence on the post of BDO, but his mobile was also switched off. There was also any facility of mobile charging in the passenger train, due to rain from above, it was late for three to four hours.

Still the rain was not taking its name to stop. After all, how will she go to her residence? His office car and driver was about to come to pick him up, but no one could be contacted due to the mobile being switched off. I don’t know whether everyone would have come or not.

She was also scared what would she do now. Then his eyes fell on a small tea stall there. He thought that he is feeling cold, let’s drink tea, there will be some relief.

reached the tea stall and asked for a tea. There were two or four more people drinking tea. Everyone went away after drinking tea.

The shopkeeper and Juhi remained at the stall. The tea seller was a young boy of about 25 years. Looked well read and decent. Juhi felt relieved after drinking the tea. While drinking tea, he asked the boy telling the address of his residence – I want to go to this address, how can I go. But he also introduced himself.

The boy looked at Juhi carefully and said- Madam, it is now one o’clock in the night. You will get nothing at this time. Today the train is late, that’s why I too have stayed for so long, otherwise I too close my shop at 8-9 pm and go to my home.

Now after this no train arrives, so the station becomes completely empty and deserted.

Hearing this, Juhi gets worried.

But there is a solution, the boy said, where you have to go, I have to go the same way, I also have a motorcycle. If you want, I can drop you to your house. But I will take full five hundred rupees. Because this is also my business. When the train is late, I often do the work of transporting one or two passengers to their homes late at night.

Hearing this, Juhi was relieved, but there was also a fear that how could I walk alone in such a night with a young and unknown boy.

Seeing Juhi thinking, this boy said, don’t think too much, believe me madam. Give me my five hundred rupees rent and go. Now I will close my shop and go home as soon as the rain stops, if I get a ride, I will still be able to take you.

Just then the station master comes there, drinking tea. Drink tea patient. I too will go to my quarters after having tea. Dheeraj bows to him and tells about Juhi. The station master said look, daughter Dheeraj is right. You can believe this. This is also his livelihood. And don’t take it as a chaiwala, it is going to be a police officer soon. He runs all the expenses of his family by selling tea and carrying rides. You can’t stay here alone at night.

Juhi felt a little confident after listening to the station master.

She sat back on Dheeraj’s bike. It was still drizzling lightly. It was dark all around. The front light was getting illuminated by the head light of the bike.

Both must have gone a short distance away that a tree had fallen on the road in front and the road was closed. Dheeraj stopped his bike. Then 4-5 people attacked both of them. Dheeraj got entangled with those miscreants. For a long time everyone fought. Juhi was terrified. He did not understand what to do. Eventually Dheeraj shooed everyone away, but in the meantime he was badly hurt. Hands and head were injured from where blood was also flowing.

Not caring about his injuries, Dheeraj broke some branches of the tree and made a little way and got his bike crossed and hurriedly made Juhi sit and started the bike and ran away from there.

On the way, he told that today such an incident has happened for the first time. I will report it to the police station early tomorrow and get the matter investigated.

Juhi was now beginning to believe in Dheeraj. He had also killed a lot. He saved her and did not do any wrong thing with her.

When asked by Juhi, Dheeraj told that he has a mother and a younger sister and a younger brother in his house. He takes care of the household. He studies himself and also teaches his siblings. Some private tuition also does.

He wants to become a police officer. He is preparing for that too.

It was not known when both of them reached the city in talks. Dheeraj took Juhi to the address given to her but there was no one there. The bungalow was locked. Juhi gets very sad.

Dheeraj said, madam, if you do not mind, then you spend the night at my house, tomorrow I will bring you here again.

Juhi readily agreed. Dheeraj was now feeling a lot of pain and blood was still bleeding from many places.

As soon as Dheeraj reached his home, his mother started crying on seeing him. His siblings also started crying. In fact, Dheeraj had done a great job of bravery. Juhi too was getting worried seeing her condition. Everyone made him lie on the bed somehow. Her mother asked her daughter to heat the water and started wiping Dheeraj’s wound with her lap.

But no one noticed Juhi. Juhi too gets involved in helping her mother wash Dheeraj’s wounds.
