हावड़ा | [पश्चिम बंगाल बुलेटिन] | पैगंबर मोहम्मद को लेकर भारतीय जनता पार्टी के दो पूर्व नेताओं के द्वारा की गई विवादास्पद टिप्पणी के खिलाफ सैकड़ों प्रदर्शनकारियों ने पश्चिम बंगाल के हावड़ा जिले में शुक्रवार को सड़कों को ब्लॉक कर विरोध प्रदर्शन किया। इस दौरान उपद्रवियों ने भाजपा के दफ्तर में तोड़फोड़ के बाद आग लगा दी। लोगों ने हावड़ा-खड़गपुर रेल मार्ग पर दासनगर रेलवे स्टेशन के पास भी विरोध प्रदर्शन किया।
पुलिस के एक अधिकारी ने बताया कि प्रदर्शनकारियों की धूलागढ़, पंचला और उलूबेरिया में पुलिस के साथ तब झड़प हुई जब उन्होंने राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग 6 की नाकेबंदी खुलवाने की कोशिश की। रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक, उलुबेरिया में बीजेपी के 1 कार्यालय में तोड़फोड़ की गई और आग लगा दी गई। समाचार एजेंसी द्वारा शेयर किए गए एक वीडियो में देखा जा सकता है कि भाजपा दफ्तर में तोड़फोड़ और आग के बाद सामान बिखरा पड़ा है।

पुलिस ने किया लाठीचार्ज
एक प्रदर्शनकारी ने कहा, “भाजपा के 2 नेताओं को उनकी धार्मिक भावनाओं को आहत करने वाली टिप्पणी के लिए फौरन गिरफ्तार किया जाना चाहिए।” अधिकारी ने कहा कि धूलागढ़ और पंचला में भीड़ को तितर-बितर करने के लिए पुलिस को लाठीचार्ज करना पड़ा, जहां प्रदर्शनकारियों ने इसके जवाब में पथराव किया, जिससे पास खड़ी कारों को नुकसान पहुंचा।
दक्षिण पूर्वी रेलवे के एक अधिकारी ने बताया कि प्रदर्शकारियों ने हावड़ा-खड़गपुर खंड पर दोपहर 1 बजकर 22 मिनट पर फुलेश्वर और चेंगैल स्टेनशनों के बीच की पटरियों को अवरूद्ध कर दिया। बंगाल इमाम एसोसिएशन के अध्यक्ष मोहम्मद याहिया ने कहा कि संगठन ने भाजपा के पूर्व 2 नेताओं की गिरफ्तारी की मांग को लेकर समूचे राज्य में मस्जिदों के अंदर प्रदर्शन का आह्वान किया था। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रशासन सड़कों को अवरूद्ध करने वालों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई करने के लिए स्वतंत्र है।
भाजपा ने पैगंबर पर टिप्पणी को लेकर मुस्लिम देशों से तीखी प्रतिक्रिया आने के बाद 5 जून को नुपुर शर्मा को पार्टी से निलंबित कर दिया था और नवीन कुमार जिंदल को पार्टी से निष्कासित कर दिया था।

A police official said the protesters clashed with the police in Dhulagarh, Panchala and Uluberia when they tried to open the blockade of National Highway 6. According to reports, 1 BJP office in Uluberia was ransacked and set on fire. In a video shared by the news agency, it can be seen that after the vandalism and fire in the BJP office, goods were scattered.

Police did lathicharge
“Two BJP leaders should be arrested immediately for remarks that hurt their religious sentiments,” a protester said. Police had to lathi-charge to disperse the crowd in Dhulagarh and Panchla, where the protesters pelted stones in retaliation, damaging cars parked nearby, the official said.
A South Eastern Railway official said the protesters blocked the tracks on the Howrah-Kharagpur section at 1:22 pm between Phuleshwar and Chengail stations. Bengal Imam Association president Mohammad Yahia said the organization had called for protests inside mosques across the state, demanding the arrest of two former BJP leaders. He said that the administration is free to take action against those who block the roads.
The BJP had on June 5 suspended Nupur Sharma and expelled Naveen Kumar Jindal from the party following sharp reactions from Muslim countries over his remarks on the Prophet.
