नई दिल्ली | [नेशनल बुलेटिन] | भारत के पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री राजीव गांधी के हत्याकांड (assassination of former prime minister rajiv gandhi) को 21 मई 2022 को 31 साल हो जाएंगे। इस केस से जुड़े एजी पेरारिवलन को सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने रिहा कर दिया है। उसे जेल में अच्छे बर्ताव के चलते उसे छोड़ा गया है। पेराविलन ने मानवीयता के आधार पर चोदने की अर्जी लगाई थी।

बता दें कि राजीव गांधी की चेन्नई के पास श्रीपेरुम्बदूर में एक चुनावी अभियान रैली के दौरान हुए बम विस्फोट में जान चली गई थी। विस्फोट के सटीक विवरण (xact details of the blast) आज तक अस्पष्ट हैं। हालांकि जांच में यही सामने आया कि ब्लास्ट उस समय हुआ, जब राजीव गांधी मंच पर जा रहे थे और रास्ते में शुभचिंतकों और समर्थकों से मिल रहे थे।

घटनास्थल पर मौजूद एक कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ता अशोक ने तब मीडिया को बताया था कि एक सेकंड तो ऐसा लगा था मानों कोई आतिशबाजी हो रही हो। फिर हवा में शवों को उछलते देखा गया। हर कोई बदहवास सा यहां-वहां भाग रहा था। इस ब्लास्ट में वे भी घायल हुए थे। ब्लास्ट में राजीव गांधी का शरीर इतनी बुरी तरह से जल गया था कि उनकी बॉडी की पहचान अलग हेयरलाइन (बालों की स्टाइल- hairline) और उनके सफेद रंग के लोटो स्नीकर्स (एक प्रकार के जूते) से हुई।

CBI की जांच में यही माना गया कि राजीव गांधी की हत्या प्रभाकरन और उनके उग्रवादी संगठन, लिट्टे (लिबरेशन टाइगर्स ऑफ तमिल ईलम) से संबंधित धनु (Dhanu) नामक एक तमिल आत्मघाती हमलावर (Tamil suicide bomber named Dhanu) द्वारा की गई थी।

धनु, जिसे थेनमोझी राजारत्नम (Dhanu, also known as Thenmozhi Rajaratnam) के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। जांच में सामने आया कि जब उसने राजीव गांधी को माला पहनाई और पैर छूने के लिए झुकी, इसी दौरान उसने धमाका कर दिया। आत्मघाती हमलावर के रूप में उसकी भूमिका की पहचान क्षत-विक्षत लाश पर पाए गए विस्फोटक सामग्री के फोरेंसिक अवशेषों से हुई थी।

CBI जांच में सामने आया था कि लिट्टे नेता प्रभाकरन की गांधी के प्रति व्यक्तिगत दुश्मनी और श्रीलंका में बाद की विफल शांति नीति ऐसी वजहें थीं, जो इस हत्याकांड की वजह बनीं। हालांकि इसमें कांग्रेस नेताओं की बड़ी लापरवाही सामने आई थी। कांग्रेस नेता और उनके प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने चेतावनियों के बावजूद सुरक्षा को लेकर गंभीरता नहीं दिखाई।

पेरारिवलन राजीव गांधी की हत्या से जुड़े प्रमुख 7 दोषियों में से एक रहा है। तमिलनाडु के जोलारपेट्टई के रहने वाले पेरारिवलन को जब गिरफ्तार किया गया था, तब उसकी उम्र सिर्फ 19 साल थी।
