अहमदाबाद | [कोर्ट बुलेटिन] | अहमदाबाद की एक अदालत ने पद्मश्री तीस्ता सीतलवाड़ और पूर्व डीजीपी आरबी श्रीकुमार की जमानत याचिका पर आदेश 28 जुलाई 2022 तक टाल दिया है। सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता तीस्ता सीतलवाड़ ने अहमदाबाद के सेशल कोर्ट में अर्जी दी थी।
बता दें कि तीस्ता सीतलवाड़ और आरबी श्रीकुमार ने खुद पर लगे आरोपों से इनकार किया है।
क्या है आरोप?
तीस्ता और श्रीकुमार के अलावा इस मामले में पूर्व आईपीएस अधिकारी संजीव भट्ट भी आरोपी हैं। एसआईटी ने दावा किया है कि ये तीनों ही आरोपी तत्कालीन नरेंद्र मोदी सरकार को अस्थिर करने की साजिश रच रहे थे। आरोप है कि पीड़ितों की मदद के लिए दी जाने वाली राशि का दुरुपयोग किया गया और इसका इस्तेमाल राज्य सरकार को अस्थिर करने में किया गया। यह सब कांग्रेस नेता अहमद पटेल के इशारों पर किया जाता था।
विशेष लोक अभियोजक मितेश अमीन ने अहमदाबाद सेशल कोर्ट में तीस्ता की जमानत याचिका का विरोध किया था। उन्होंने कहा था कि तीस्ता निर्दोषों को फंसाने के लिए साजिश कर रही थीं। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि पीड़ितों को जो राशि मिलनी थी वह कभी नहीं मिली। इसका इस्तेमाल साजिश में कर लिया गया।
तीस्ता सीतलवाड़ का जन्म महाराष्ट्र में हुआ था। उन्होंने मुंबई विश्वविद्यालय से ग्रेजुएशन किया। तीस्ता को साल 2007 में पद्मश्री से सम्मानित किया जा चुका है। वह सिटीजन्स फॉर जस्टिस ऐंड पीस नाम का एनडीओ चलाती हैं।
उन्होंने पत्रकारिता करने के लिए कानून की पढ़ाई बीच में ही छोड़ दी थी। उनकी शादी पत्रकार जावेद आनंद से हुई थी। सीतलवाड़ के दादा एमसी सीतलवाड़ देश के पहले अटॉर्नी जनरल थे। उनके पिता भी वकील थे।
No relief to Padmashree Teesta Setalvad and Sreekumar, decision on bail plea postponed
Ahmedabad | [Court Bulletin] | An Ahmedabad court has deferred the order on the bail plea of Padmashree Teesta Setalvad and former DGP RB Sreekumar till July 28, 2022. Social activist Teesta Setalvad had filed an application in the Seyal Court in Ahmedabad.

What is the charge?
Apart from Teesta and Sreekumar, former IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt is also an accused in the case. The SIT has claimed that all these three accused were conspiring to destabilize the then Narendra Modi government. It is alleged that the funds given to help the victims were misused and used to destabilize the state government. All this was done on the behest of Congress leader Ahmed Patel.
Special Public Prosecutor Mitesh Amin had opposed Teesta’s bail plea in the Ahmedabad Seyal Court. He had said that Teesta was conspiring to implicate innocents. He also said that the victims never got the amount they were supposed to get. It was used in the conspiracy.
Teesta Setalvad was born in Maharashtra. He graduated from Mumbai University. Teesta has been awarded the Padma Shri in the year 2007. She runs an NDO named Citizens for Justice and Peace.
He left his law studies midway to pursue journalism. She was married to journalist Javed Anand. Setalvad’s grandfather MC Setalvad was the first Attorney General of the country. His father was also a lawyer.
