मास्को से खबर साया हुयी है आज (18 जून 2022)। यह एवार्ड—नीलामी की ( भारतवाले ढोंगी वापसी के मुकाबले यह श्रेष्ठतर कदम है)। 60 वर्षीय रुसी संपादक दिमित्री मुरातोव ने अपने ही राष्ट्रपति व्लादीमीर पुतीन की दैत्याकार सेना द्वारा पड़ोसी यूक्रेन की निरपराध जनता पर नृशंस हमले की बड़ी अहिंसक, गांधीवादी रीति से भर्त्सना की है। इस जुझारु रुसी पत्रकार ने अपने नोबेल पुरस्कार के तमगे को नीलामी कर उसकी विक्रय राशि को यूक्रेन के पीड़ितों के नाम दान करने का ऐलान किया है। ”मेरे स्वदेश की फौज ने यूक्रेन पर यह धावा बोला है। अमानवीय जुल्म ढाया है।” मुरातोव का मानना है कि बहुसंख्यक रुसीजन पुतीन के आलोचक है। विरोधी हैं। रोज उनकी तादाद में वृद्धि होती जा रही है।
आखिर यह संपादक मुरातोव हैं कौन ? आज संसार के निर्भीक एवं मुक्त मीडिया का वह बहादुर प्रहरी है। टीवी एंकर है। ओजस्वी वक्ता तथा धारदार लेखक भी। अपने निडर दैनिक ”नोवाया गजेटा” (नूतन पत्रिका) के वे बेखौफ संपादक हैं। उसके लिये पूर्व रुसी राष्ट्रपति और मानव स्वाधीनता संघर्ष हेतु नोबल पुरस्कार पाये मिखाइल गोर्बाचोव ने अपनी पारितोष राशि का बड़ा अंश दान दे दिया था ताकि स्वतंत्रता—प्रिय मानवीय आत्मा को संबल मिले। कृत्रिम एकता पर आधारित सोवियत रुस को भंग कर गोर्बाचोव ने कम्युनिस्ट तानाशाही को दफनाया दिया था। नेस्तनाबूद किया था। भले ही माओवादी चीन अभी भी राक्षसी नीतियों का पालन कर रहा हो।
यह पत्रकार—योद्धा दिमित्री पश्चिमी रुस के वोल्गा नदी के तट पर बसे समारा नगर के एक सामान्य कुटुम्ब में 29 अक्टूबर 1961 को पैदा हुआ था। सोवियत कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी के दैनिक ”प्रावदा” से उसने पत्रकारी जीवन प्रारंभ किया था। रुसी भाषाशास्त्र का छात्र रहा। इसीलिये शब्दज्ञान, वर्तनी की शुद्धता, लेखनी की सुगमता भरपूर रही। कुछ समय वह सोवियत लाल सेना में भर्ती था। सृजनात्मक प्रवृत्ति के कारण मीडिया ही उसकी अगली पसंद रही। अपना दैनिक ”नोवाया गजेटा” प्रकाशित किया। तभी से रुसी शासन में (सत्ता मुख्यालय क्रेमलिन में) व्याप्त भ्रष्टाचार, अधिनायकवादिता, जनविरोधी करतूतें, व्यापक गबन, जेल में आलोचक—कैदियों का दमन आदि अब असहयनीय हो गया। दिमित्री ने उसके उन्मूलन का बीड़ा उठा लिया। पुतीन पहला निशाना बने।
चेचेन्या इस्लामिक गणराज्य पर रुसी सैनिकों के अमानवीय अल्याचार पर दिमित्री ने खूब लिखा। पशुबल का प्रयोग देखा, अपनी कलम से उसे दुत्कारा, लानत—मलामत की। क्रीमिया प्रदेश पर (2014 में) पुतिन का हमला और जबरन कब्जा भी दिमित्री को नागवार गुजरा। मीडिया से अभियान छेड़ा। लोक भावना जगायी। प्रसार किया। मानवता का यह तकाजा था। यूं घोर राष्ट्रवादी लोग मानते है : ”मेरा देश सही या गलत, पर हैं बड़ा सही।” इसके दिमित्री विरोधी हैं। वैश्विक इंसानियत उन्हें अधिक पसंदीदा लगी। नोबेल पारितोष इसीलिये उन्हें दिया गया।
उनके परिवार की निस्वार्थता और सहजता का एक नमूना पेश है। दिमित्री ने ओस्लो से दो हजार किलोमीटर दूर अपनी वृद्धा मां को फोन किया (8 अगस्त 2021) कि ”कैसी हैं?” मां ने नार्वे के सर्द मौसम के बारे में पूछा, फिर कहा : ” और क्या खबर ?” बेटे का संक्षिप्त जवाब था : ”मां, मुझे नोबेल पारितोष मिला है।” जवाब आया, ”बहुत बढ़िया। और क्या खबर ?” साधारण ग्रामीण गृहिणी अधिक क्या पूछ सकती ही थी ?
पुरस्कार लेने के बाद अपने आभार—वक्तव्य में दिमित्री ने अतीव मर्मस्पर्शी भाषण दिया। राजधानी ओस्लो में (11 दिसंबर 2021 को) टाउन हाल में दिमित्री ने सचेत किया कि : ”दुनिया में मुक्त—विचारों को कुचला जा रहा है। तानाशाही फैलती जा रही है। शासक सोचते है कि तक्नोलॉजी तथा हिंसा के बल प्रगति हो रही है। मगर यह हितकारी नहीं होगी। अत: जनता की अपेक्षा है राजनेताओं तथा पत्रकारों से कि ऐसी दुनिया बने जहां ”Killed in Action” के समाचार छापना ही न पड़े। पत्रकारों से आशा है कि वे सत्य और कल्पना में घालमेल न करें। तथ्य पेश करना ही उनका धर्म है। उनका प्रश्न था : ”राज्य जनता के लिये होता है? अथवा जनता राज्य के लिये ?”
मास्को जेल में नजरबंद विपक्ष के नेता एलेक्सी नवलतनी दिमित्री पर बोले कि : ”इस नोबेल पुरस्कार का असली हकदार नवलतनी ही हैं। वह जेल में पुतीन द्वारा दी जा रही असह्य यातना का शिकार है।” नोबेल समिति से उनका आग्रह था कि अंतर्राष्ट्रीय यातना—विरोधी न्याय—प्राधिकरण का गठन हो। मानव की आत्मा की आजादी सुनिश्चित करने हेतु। उनकी घोषणा थी कि उन्हें मिला पारितोष मानव मुक्ति के लिये संघर्षरत हर पत्रकार के नाम है। यह प्रत्येक खोजी कलमकार के लिये है जो सत्यान्वेषी है।
पनामा—पेडोंरा पेपर्स द्वारा उद्घाटित नामीगिरामी लुटेरों की भर्त्सना करते हुये दिमित्री ने अनवरत जद्दोजहद की मांग की। स्मरण रहे इस पनामा पेपर्स की रपट में इंडियन एक्सप्रेस ने जो लिखा है उसमें अमिताभ बच्चन, पतोहू ऐश्वर्या राय, विजय माल्या, मंत्री जयंत सिंन्हा, सचिन तेन्दुलकर, जहांगीर सोली सोराबजी, ब्रिटिश प्रधानमंत्री रहे टोनी ब्लेयर एवं स्वयं व्लादीमीर पुतीन सूची के शीर्ष पर रहे।
दिमित्री की मांग रही कि साइबेरिया के घने जंगलों में वृक्षों की निर्मम कटाई के खिलाफ हम पत्रकार दुनिया भर में आवाज बुलन्द करें। वर्तमान पत्रकारिता अंधेरी घाटी से गुजर रही है। अपने संघर्षशील साथियों से वे बोले : ” रिश्वतखोरों ने हमारे काम की सहजता को नष्ट कर दुश्वारियां पैदा कर दीं।”
भारत की विदेशनीति पर पुनर्विचार के लिये दिमित्री ने सत्यबात बतायी है। पुतिन के रुस की आबादी के आधी (सात करोड़) जन यूक्रेन के निश्छल हमदर्द है। रोज उनकी संख्या बढ़ती जा रही है। रुसी सेना का झूठ खुलता जा रहा है। अत: दुनिया को इस पर गौर करना होगा। नरेन्द्र मोदी और उनके साथी जयशंकर को नये सिरे से सोचना होगा। दिमित्री की यही कामना सारी दुनिया से है।

Leader of the Opposition Alexey Navlatny, who is under house arrest in Moscow prison, said on Dmitry: “The real deserving of this Nobel Prize is Navlatny. Dmitry has told the truth to reconsider India’s foreign policy. Half of the population of Putin’s Russia (70 million) are unconditional sympathizers of Ukraine. Every day their number is increasing. The lies of the Russian army are being exposed. So the world has to look into this. Narendra Modi and his colleague Jaishankar will have to think afresh. This is the wish of Dmitry to the whole world.
