परिचय– मुंबई, महाराष्ट्र.
खुद महका तो क्या महका,
गुलशन गमकाओ तो जाने।
कभी आग लगाते बर्फ में तू,
बुझे चूल्हे जलाओ तो जाने।
क्यों रखते ठोकर में दुनिया,
नशेमन पे गिराते बिजलियाँ,
हुर की बातें कपोल-कल्पित,
क्यों सौदा किया वो गलियाँ।
जनाजा न ढोए कोई कली,
फिर फिजा हँसाओ तो जाने।
नई सुबह खिलाओ तो जानें।
धरती पे पराया कोई नहीं,
बहुतों के घरों पे छाया नहीं,
कब के बिछुड़े अपनी जड़ों से,
कोई राख उनकी उठाया नहीं।
सिन्धु बह रही, झेलम बह रही,
कोई गंगा बहाओ तो जानें।
नई जमुना निकालो तो जानें।
वो फूल-से चेहरे क्यों दूर रहें,
अपने दर-ओ-दीवार से,
कब तलक रिरियाएँगे वो,
अपनी ही सरकार से,
सोग मनाने का सिलसिला रोककर,
उनका गगन दिलाओ तो जाने।
अमन-ओ-चैन लाओ तो जाने,
उनकी दुनिया दिलाओ तो जाने।

If you smell yourself, what is the smell?

Why stay away from those flower-faces,
From your door-o-wall,
When will they cry?
