(एक छात्र के गुरुजी से सवाल,जब छात्र को गुरु जी द्वारा उनकी पानी की मटकी से पानी पीने पर पीटा गया)

 

मास्टर जी मेरा

क्या दोष था?

केवल इतना कि

प्यास लगने पर

आपकी पानी-मटकी

से पानी पीना।

मैं तो था, नादान

बच्चा, मुझे नहीं

समझ, क्या मेरा?

क्या तेरा?

मैंने सबको समान

समझा।

क्या यही था, मेरा दोष।

आप तो हैं मेरे गुरु।

विद्यालय में समानता

का पाठ सीखा।

और आपने ही मुझे असमान

समझ लिया ।

मुझे तो समझ नहीं

आया, क्या प्यास

लगने पर पानी पीना

दोष है, तो हाँ हूँ, मैं

दोषी।

master ji mine

what was the fault?

only that

when thirsty

your pot

drink water from

it was me, naive

baby, not me

I understand, what?

what yours

i’m all the same

understood.

Was this my fault?

You are my teacher.

equality in school

Lesson learned.

And you’ve got me uneven

Understood .

i don’t understand

come, what thirst

drink water when

is to blame, so yes I am

Guilty.
