शुबह जब धीरज की छोटी बहन गुड़िया जूही को चाय लेकर उसके कमरे में गई और जूही को जगाना चाहा तो देखी जूही को तेज बुखार है। उसने जूही को उठाते हुए कहा लीजिए मैडम चाय पीजिए लेकिन आप को तो तेज बुखार है और आपने किसी को बताया भी नही। आप चाय पीजिए मैं मां को बुलाकर लाती हूं। जूही उठना चाही मगर उठ नहीं सकी। उसने धीरे से कहा तुम चाय टेबुल पर रख दो गुड़िया मैं पी लुंगी।

गुड़िया चाय टेबल पर रखकर भागती हुई बाहर निकल गई। थोड़ी ही देर में धीरज और उसकी मां कमरे में भागते हुए आए। धीरज की मां ने जूही का सिर छूकर कहा अरे बेटी तुमको तो सच में बहुत तेज बुखार है। फिर उसने सहारा देकर जूही को उठाया और बैठाते हुए टेबल से चाय देते हुए बोली तुम चाय पियो बेटी थोड़ा आराम मिलेगा।

धीरज थोड़ा चिंतित दिख रहा था वो अपनी मां को बता भी नहीं पा रहा था की जूही की बीमारी का कारण वो खुद ही है।

उसने कहा मैडम आप चाय पीकर तैयार हो ले मां आपके साथ चलेगी मैं आपको डॉक्टर के यहां लेकर चलता हूं। डॉक्टर के यहां से आपके आवास पर चलना होगा। आपके ऑफिस को भी खबर करना होगा। आपके निवास पर मेरी मां भी रहेगी।

जूही ने धीरे से कहा ठीक कह रहे हो। सबसे पहले तुम मेरे बड़े बाबू को फोन कर दो नंबर मैं दे रही हूं वो सबको खबर कर देंगे और जिला को भी रिपोर्ट करना होगा।

धीरज की मां जूही को लेकर गाड़ी में बैठ गई। धीरज जूही को लेकर डॉक्टर के निवास पर पहुंच गया। जूही को देखकर उसने तत्परता दिखाई और तुरंत उसका जांच किया। और बताया इनको ठंड लग गई है। सबसे पहले मैडम को ठंड से बचाना है और मैं कुछ दवाई लिख कर दे रहा हूं आप फौरन इनकी नाश्ते के बाद खिला देना। इस तरह दिन में तीन बार देते रहना। सिर पर कान तक ढकने वाली टोपी पहना दें और गले में मफलर बांध दें। घर ले जाकर कंबल ओढ़ा दें। दो तीन बार पैरों में गर्म तेल की मालिश भी करना है।

धीरज की मां ने कहा ठीक है डॉक्टर साहब।

फिर धीरज सबको लेकर जूही के आवास पर पहुंच गया। वहां बड़े बाबू सबका इंतजार कर रहे थे।
