परिचय– नैनीताल, उत्तराखंड.

कुछ अपनों के दिए दंश ने,

कुछ जीवन के कड़े संघर्ष ने,

उसकों इतना पस्त किया;

जीवन की आपा-धापी में,

वो कुछ ऐसा उलझता गया,

उसकों तो ये पता ही ना चला,

कि कब! वह युवा से वृद्ध हुआ।।

कब वह युवा से वृद्ध हुआ!

जो उसका अपना अजीज था,

वो उसके दिल के करीब था।

उस पर इतना विश्वास किया,

कि सब कुछ उसके नाम किया।

पर उसने ही पीठ पर उसके,

खंजर से ऐसा वार किया।

इतना आहत हुआ जख्म से,

उसके द्वारा दिये जख्म से,

इतना था वह टुट गया।

उसको तो ये पता ना चला,

कब युवा से वृद्ध हुआ!

कि कब! युवा से वृद्ध हुआ।

यूँ तो था पहले से बुढ़ा,

पर उसको ना स्वीकार किया,

श्वेत केश ने उसको समझाया,

वृध्द होने का आभास कराया,

पर केशों को था श्याम किया।

नयनों ने भी साथ छोड़ दिया,

वृद्ध हो चुके हो बतलाया,

पर उसने ना स्वीकार किया।

उसने अब चश्मा लगवाया।

कानों ने असमर्थता व्यक्त की,

वृद्ध हो चुके ये बतलाना की,

कानों ने की कोशिशें तमाम

पर कानों की भी था मानी

उसने तो अब जिद थी ठानी।

वृद्ध हो चुका मान न पाया।

श्रवण-यंत्र कानों पर लगवाया,

जब पैरों ने कहा ठहर जा,

उसने, तब, लाठी को थामा।

हाथों ने भी साथ था छोड़ा,

तन ने मन का साथ था छोड़ा।

तब माना कि वह वृद्ध हुआ।

थका सा मन था, जर्जर तन था,

अस्तांचल की ओर जीवन था।

गमन को मन तैयार हुआ,

गमन को तन तैयार हुआ।

अब जाकर उसको लगने लगा था,

कि अब तो वह वृद्ध हुआ।

जीवनसंगी ही सुनता है,

एक-दूसरे से ही कहता है।

और कहाँ अब किसको फुरसत?

सब अपनी-अपनी धुन में है मस्त।

कौन कहाँ किसकी सुनता है।

जीवनसंगी भी अब बिछुड़ा,

बीच भँवरे में साथ था छोड़ा,

वह इस धाम को छोड़ गया,

उसको भविष्य को सौंप गया।

बस अब वह ही रहा अकेला।

स्वयं से अब बातें करता है

स्वयं को अब बुढ़ा कहता है

एक-एक कर सब साथ था छुटा,

तन्हाई ने अब आ घेरा।

बस वह खुद से ही बतियाता,

किसको अपनी पीड़ा बतलाता,

औरों को पागल लगता है।

वह है एक और उसकी तन्हाई,

काटने आती है ये तन्हाई।

अब जीवन से विरक्त हो चुका।अब तो सब कुछ खत्म हो चुका।

बस अंतिम साँसे गिनता है।

ईश से मुक्ति को कहता है।

कि अब तो मैं वृद्ध हुआ है !

इस सच को स्वीकार चुका।

गमन की तैयारी में है लगा।

ज्योति से तम की ओर चलने की,

शनैः-शनैः तैयारियाँ करता है।।

जब वह तम से ज्योति में आया।

सब ने उसको गोदी में था उठाया।

उसके आगमन के स्वागत में,

सबने मंगल गान था गाया।

जब-जब भी वह रोता था,

हर कोई चिंतित होता था।

उसको जरा सा ज्वर आता तो

हर कोई घबरा तब जाता।

आज वह ज्वर भी जो तड़पे,

तो कोई नही है पूछने वाला।

अब सबकों बस बोझ लगता है,

जीना मुश्किल कर रखा है।

सब कहते कि कब जल्दी मरे ये,

इससे जल्दी पीछा छूटे।

इस बात को अब, वह समझ चुका है,

कि वह अब बुढ़ा हो चुका है।।

कि अब तो, वह वृद्ध हुआ है।।

that now he is old

Due to the bite of some loved ones,
Some hard struggle of life,
battered him so much;
in the hustle and bustle of life,
He got confused like this,
He didn’t even know it.
that when! He grew from young to old.
When did he grow from young to old!
who was his own favorite,
He was close to her heart.
believed in him so much,
that everything was done in his name.
But he only had her on his back,
Hit like this with a dagger.
So hurt by the wound,
from the wounds inflicted by him,

It was so that it broke.
He didn’t know that
When did you get old from young?
that when! From young to old.
Yes, it was already old,
but did not accept it,
The white hair explained to him,
felt old,
But the hair had to be darkened.
The eyes also left
You have been told that you are old.
But he did not accept.
He put on glasses now.
The ears expressed their inability,
It is old age to tell that,

All the ears tried
But the ears also obeyed
He was determined now.
The old man could not accept it.
hearing aids put on the ears,
When the feet said to stop,
He, then, grabbed the stick.
Hands also left together
Tan had left the side of the mind.
Then it is believed that he has grown old.
There was a tired mind, a shabby body,
There was life on the astonishing side.
The mind is ready to move,
The body was ready for departure.
Now he was starting to feel,

That now he is old.
Only the life partner listens,
tells each other.
And where now?
Everyone is in their own tune.
Who listens where?
Life partner is also separated now,
Was left in the middle of the whirlpool,
He left this abode,
He was handed over to the future.
Now he was the only one.
talks to himself now
calls himself old
One by one everyone was released,
The loneliness has now surrounded him.
He just talks to himself

To whom do you tell your pain?
Others feel crazy.
He is one and his loneliness,
This loneliness comes to bite.
Now he has become detached from life. Now everything is over.
Just counts the last breath.
He calls for liberation from God.
That I am old now!
accepted this truth.
Getting ready for departure.
To walk from Jyoti to Tama,
Slowly prepares.
When he came from Tama to Jyoti.
Everyone picked him up in his lap.
in welcoming his arrival,
Everyone sang the auspicious song.

whenever he cried,
Everyone was worried.
if he has a slight fever
Everyone would get scared then.
Even the fever that hurts today,
So no one is there to ask.
Now everyone just feels like a burden,
Difficult to live.
Everyone says that when he should die soon,
Followed up quickly.
Now he has understood this,
That he is old now.
That now, he is old.
