नई दिल्ली | [कोर्ट बुलेटिन] | हरियाणा के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री और इनेलो (इंडियन नेशनल लोक दल) सुप्रीमो Om Prakash Chautala (ओम प्रकाश चौटाला) की मुश्किलें कम होने का नाम नहीं ले रही हैं। आय से अधिक संपत्ति मामले में शनिवार को दिल्ली की राउज एवेन्यू कोर्ट ने चौटाला को दोषी करार दिया है। अदालत में 26 मई को सजा पर बहस होनी है।

जानकारी के अनुसार, शनिवार को हुई इस सुनवाई के दौरान ओम प्रकाश चौटाला कोर्ट रूम में ही मौजूद रहे। इससे पहले 19 मई को राउज एवेन्यू कोर्ट ने आय से अधिक संपत्ति रखने के मामले में अपना फैसला सुरक्षित रख लिया था।

इस मामले में सीबीआई ने 26 मार्च, 2010 को चौटाला के खिलाफ आरोपपत्र दाखिल किया था और उन्हें 1993 से 2006 के बीच कथित रूप से उनकी वैध आय से काफी अधिक 6.09 करोड़ रुपये की संपत्ति जुटाने के लिए जिम्मेदार ठहराया था।

हालांकि, चौटाला परिवार इन आरोपों को हमेशा से ही राजनीति से प्रेरित बताता रहा है।

बता दें कि, साल 2019 में प्रवर्तन निदेशालय ने हरियाणा के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री ओम प्रकाश चौटाला की 3 करोड़ 68 लाख की संपत्तियों को जब्त किया था। इन संपत्तियों में ओम प्रकाश चौटाला के फ्लैट, प्लॉट और जमीन शामिल थे।

जब्‍त की गईं संपत्तियां नई दिल्ली, पंचकूला और सिरसा में स्थित हैं। यह कार्रवाई आय से अधिक संपत्ति के एक मामले में मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग एक्ट के तहत दर्ज FIR को लेकर हुई थी।

चौटाला जेबीटी भर्ती घोटाले में पिछले साल जुलाई में ही तिहाड़ जेल से रिहा हुए थे। अब उन्हें एक बार फिर जेल जाना पड़ सकता है। कोर्ट के फैसले के बाद उनके समर्थकों में मायूसी छा गई है।

बता दें कि, इससे पहले ओम प्रकाश चौटाला, उनके बेटे अजय चौटाला और कई अन्य लोगों को साल 2000 में तीन हजार से ज्यादा जूनियर बेसिक शिक्षकों की गैर कानूनी तरीके से भर्ती करने के मामले में सजा सुनाई गई थी। इस मामले में पूर्व सीएम को 10 साल की जेल की सजा हुई थी।

शिक्षक घोटाला मामले में अपनी सजा पूरी करने के बाद चौटाला पिछले साल ही दिल्ली की तिहाड़ जेल से रिहा हुए थे। ताऊ देवीलाल की राजनीतिक विरासत को आगे बढ़ा रहे चौटाला हरियाणा की राजनीति में कद्दावर नेता माने जाते हैं।

Former Haryana CM Om Prakash Chautala convicted in disproportionate assets case

New Delhi | [Court Bulletin] | The troubles of former Haryana Chief Minister and INLD (Indian National Lok Dal) supremo Om Prakash Chautala are not taking the name of lessening. On Saturday, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court convicted Chautala in the disproportionate assets case. The sentence is to be debated in the court on May 26.

According to the information, Om Prakash Chautala remained present in the courtroom during this hearing held on Saturday. Earlier on May 19, the Rouse Avenue Court had reserved its verdict in the case of possessing disproportionate assets.

In this case, the CBI had filed a chargesheet against Chautala on March 26, 2010 and held him responsible for amassing assets worth Rs 6.09 crore, allegedly disproportionate to his legitimate income, between 1993 and 2006.

However, the Chautala family has always been calling these allegations politically motivated.

Let us tell you that in the year 2019, the Enforcement Directorate had attached properties worth 3 crore 68 lakhs of former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala. These properties included flats, plots and land owned by Om Prakash Chautala.

The attached properties are located in New Delhi, Panchkula and Sirsa. This action was taken in connection with the FIR registered under the Money Laundering Act in a case of disproportionate assets.

Chautala was released from Tihar Jail in July last year in the JBT recruitment scam. Now he may have to go to jail once again. After the court’s decision, there was dismay among his supporters.

Let us tell you that earlier, Om Prakash Chautala, his son Ajay Chautala and many others were sentenced in the year 2000 for illegally recruiting more than three thousand junior basic teachers. The former CM was sentenced to 10 years in jail in this case.

Chautala was released from Delhi’s Tihar Jail only last year after completing his sentence in the teacher scam case. Chautala, who is carrying forward the political legacy of Tau Devi Lal, is considered a strong leader in the politics of Haryana.
