परिचय– बिलासपुर, छत्तीसगढ़
हजारों पेड़ों को काटकर
हमने दो चार पौधे रोप दिए
तो कौन सा तीर मार लिए
अरे इसको भी तो संरक्षण देकर
ज़िन्दा रख नहीं पाते हैं
दिखावे के लिए
वृक्षारोपण कार्यक्रम रखते हैं
ज़मीन खोदता कोई और है
और सामने जाकर
छपास वाला हम फोटो खींचा लेते हैं
यही तो विश्व का सबसे
अद्भुत और अनोखा प्रकृति प्रेमी होना है
हम बेशर्म हो चुके हैं
हमारा बड़ा-बड़ा संगठन है
किन्तु कटते जंगलों के विरोध में
एक आवाज़ भी नहीं उठा सकते
और हमें चाहिए
प्रदूषणमुक्त ताज़ी हवा
ग्लोबल वार्मिंग बढ़ ही रहा है
ग्रीनहाउस गैसों की अधिकता
कैसे रोकें
दुनिया की सारी सरकारें
इससे अनजान नहीं
किन्तु लालसा और सुविधाभोगी होना
उन्हें प्रकृति के लिए अमानुष,
निर्दयी और विनाशक बना रही है
जंगलों में पेड़ काटे जाते हैं
शहरों में संरक्षण के लिए
उपदेश बाँटे जाते हैं
हम निबन्ध कितना भी बड़ा लिख लें
पर्यावरण संरक्षण पर
किन्तु जंगल के चीख़ों को
हम आसानी से भूल जाते हैं ।

all the governments of the world
not unaware of it
but to crave and be convenient
them inhuman to nature,
merciless and destructive
Trees are cut in the forests
for protection in cities
sermons are distributed
no matter how big we write the essay
on environmental protection
but the screams of the forest
We forget easily.
