बहुत हिम्मत चाहिए सब कुछ खोने के लिए
झूठ की बंजर जमीं पर सत्य बोने के लिए
आसां है बहुत तलवार से दुनियाँ को जीतना
प्रेम की ढाल चाहिए बुद्ध होने के लिए
देख कर दुःख दर्द दुनियाँ का आह निकले
अगर दिल में हो दर्द अपने भी मानवता के लिए
मगर छोड़ कर सब राज पाट जंगल जाने के लिए
सत्य की मशाल चाहिए बुद्ध होने के लिए
शांति की तलाश में भटक रही है सारी कायनात
धरती चाँद सूर्य तारामंडल आकाशगंगा सभी
मानव भी तो तड़प रहा है पार ब्रह्म पाने के लिए
बस विश्राम ही तो चाहिए बुद्ध होने के लिए
देख कर कोई फूल खिलता चेहरा तुम्हारा खिल पड़े
मुस्कुराहटों में किसी की तेरी ख़ुशी भी मिल पड़े
भूल कर अपने ग़मों को दूसरे का गम मिटाने के लिए
धैर्य का पात्र चाहिए बुद्ध होने के लिए।
भिक्षा लेकर खा रहा है ‘गुलाम’ सदियों से यहाँ
लेकिन उसको अब तलक भी चैन कोई है कहाँ
मन की मुक्ति चाहिए आज़ाद होने के लिए
नियम का दंड चाहिए बुद्ध होने के लिए ….

it takes a lot of courage to lose everything
To sow the truth on the barren land of lies
There is hope to conquer the world with many swords
To be a Buddha you need a shield of love
Seeing the sorrow, the pain of the world came out
If there is pain in the heart for your humanity too
But leaving all the secrets to go to the forest
To be a Buddha you need the torch of truth
The whole world is wandering in search of peace
earth moon sun constellation galaxy all
Humans are also yearning to attain the transcendent Brahman.
Just need rest to be Buddha
Seeing a flower blooming, your face blossomed
May someone’s happiness be found in your smile
To erase your sorrows by forgetting others
Patience is needed to be a Buddha.
‘Slave’ has been eating alms here for centuries
But where does he have peace even now?
Freedom of mind is needed to be free
Need to be punished for being a Buddha
