परिचय– पटियाला, पंजाब
लाल किले की दीवारों में किसके खून की लाली है
ताजमहल की सुंदरता में किसने रौनक डाली है
क़ुतुब मीनार की ऊंचाई किसके दम पर मगरूर है
चीन की दीवार क्यों सारी दुनिया में मशहूर है
इन सबके पीछे इक मेहनत कश मज़दूर है
कांट छांट क़र कंदराओं को जिसने मंदिर कर डाला
देवों को छत्तीस भोग मिले पर जिसे न मिला निवाला
जिसने खोद खदानों से निकला कोहिनूर है
पर जिसके हिस्से में न कोई जन्नत न हूर है
इन सबके पीछे इक मेहनत कश मज़दूर है
सिंधु घाटी के अवशेष ये हमें बताते हैं
सभ्यताओं के देश जहां पत्थर भी पूजे जाते हैं
मिस्र यूनान रोम के किस्से अब तक मशहूर हैं
सभ्यताओं का रचयिता फिर क्यों इतना मजबूर है
इन सबके पीछे इक मेहनत कश मज़दूर है
करते हैं हम स्तुतिगान उस श्रमजीवी मानुष का
जिसके हिस्से में विष आया सभ्यताओं के कालुष का
काट हिमालय का सीना जो जल लाया भरपूर है
जिसके अधर की तृष्णा अब भी जल से दूर है
इन सबके पीछे इक मेहनत कश मज़दूर है
एक दिवस मना लेने से क्या इनका कल संवरेगा
स्वास्थ्य शिक्षा सम्मान से इनका भी जीवन गुजरेगा
अन्न उगाते भूखे रहकर पेट हमारा भरते ज़रूर हैं
मनरेगा का पैसा भी न देती सरकार मगरूर है
इन सबके पीछे इक मेहनत कश मज़दूर है ….

But in whose part there is neither heaven nor hell

What the remains of the Indus Valley tell us
Countries of civilizations where even stones are worshiped
The tales of Egypt Greece Rome are still famous
Why is the author of civilizations so compelled again?
Behind all this is a hard worker
We praise that working man
In whose part the poison came
Cut the chest of the Himalayas which brought water is plentiful
Whose thirst is still far from water
Behind all this is a hard worker
Will their tomorrow be better by celebrating a day?
Their life will also pass with respect to health education
By growing food, we are sure to fill our stomach by staying hungry.
The government is proud not to give even the money of MNREGA.

svaasthy shiksha sammaan se inaka bhee jeevan gujarega
ann ugaate bhookhe rahakar pet hamaara bharate zaroor hain
manarega ka paisa bhee na detee sarakaar magaroor hai
