माना कि तुम मुझको जानते हो,
मेरा नाम, मेरा काम – शहर को,
और मेरी सच्चाई को जानते हो,
और मालूम भी है यह सच कि,
हम दोनों का जन्म हुआ है,
इसी धरती और वतन में l
तुम भी पढ़े -लिखे हो,
मगर कुछ सवाल है,
जो आते हैं अक्सर,
मेरी जुबां – जेहन में,
नहीं चाहकर भी मैं,
पूछ रहा हूँ आज तुमसे l
क्या हम आज़ाद हैं,
क्या हम में कोई बुराई नहीं,
क्या सभी आबाद हैं यहाँ,
क्या अब यहाँ नहीं हैं,
भुखमरी और बेरोजगारी,
देश की आजादी के बाद भी,
जी. आज़ाद हिंदुस्तान में l
हम पूछते हैं इंसान की जाति,
विश्वास करते हैं अंधविश्वासों पर,
बाँट रखा हैं खुद को मजहबों में,
सीख नहीं पाए हम आजादी के बाद,
मिलजुलकर जीना हम इंसान बनकर,
जान नहीं पाए उस लहू को हम,
जो बहता हैं सभी के रगों में,
क्योंकि मेरी तरह तुम भी,
एक हिंदुस्तानी और देशभक्त हो,
मुझको इंतजार हैं तुम्हारे जवाब का l
Guess you know me
My name, my job – to the city,
And you know my truth,
And it is also known that it is true,
We are both born
In this land and homeland
You are also educated
But there are some questions
who come often,
In my tongue – in my mind,
I don’t even want to
I’m asking you today
are we free,
Is there no evil in us,
Are all settled here,
Aren’t you here anymore?
hunger and unemployment,
Even after the independence of the country,
Yes. in free India
We ask the human race,
believe in superstitions,
have divided themselves into religions,
We could not learn after independence,
We live together as human beings,
We could not know that blood,
Who flows in everyone’s veins,
Because like me you too
Be an Indian and a patriot,
I am waiting for your answer
