एक कट्टरवादी संगठन के कार्यकर्ता प्रेम कुमार सिंह ने इसके पहले से दिल्ली हाईकोर्ट में एक अपील लगाई हुई है कि मीडिया में दलित शब्द का प्रयोग नहीं किया जाए। इससे दलित हिंदुओं से अलग दिखाई पड़ते हैं और ऊंच-नीच को बढ़ावा मिलता है। दिल्ली हाईकोर्ट ने उनकी अपील को स्वीकार करते हुए केंद्र सरकार से जवाब- तलब किया है।
दलित पैंथर, दलित आंदोलन एवं दलित साहित्य प्रभाव के कारण यह शब्द पहले से ही कट्टरपंथी सवर्णों के निशाने पर था। दलित शब्द के नाम पर सारे वंचित एकत्र हो रहे थे यह शब्द संघर्ष का पर्याय बन गया।
हाईकोर्ट ने प्रेम कुमार सिंह की याचिका के आधार पर दलित शब्द के इस्तेमान न होने की एडवाइजरी जारी की। अनुसूचित जाति एवं जनजाति विभाग ने भी ऐसी एडवाइजरी हाईकोर्ट के हवाले पर जारी की। जिसे पहले से ताक में बैठे लोगों ने प्रतिबंध मान लिया और खूब प्रचारित किया।
दलित शब्द को प्रतिबंधित करते ही वे सारे आंदोलन, संघर्ष, साहित्य, आत्मसम्मान सब ठिकाने लगाया जा सकता है; जिससे उन्हें तकलीफ है। यह एक क्रांति की प्रतिक्रांति ही है। जिसे डॉ. आंबेडकर ने पहले ही आगाह किया था।
दलित शब्द को लोगों ने खुद अपने लिए गढ़ा है। किसी के द्वारा थोपा गया शब्द नहीं है।
आज दलितों का एक हिस्सा इस शब्द के प्रतिबंध के समर्थन में खड़ा हो गया है। उसके अपने अलग उल- जलूल तर्क हैं। वे ‘उनके’ लक्ष्य को नहीं समझ पा रहे हैं।
फिर एक क्रांति, प्रतिक्रांति का शिकार होने जा रही है।

How the confusion over the word Dalit was spread
Prem Kumar Singh, an activist of a fundamentalist organization, has already made an appeal in the Delhi High Court that the word Dalit should not be used in the media. This makes Dalits look different from Hindus and encourages hierarchies. Accepting his appeal, the Delhi High Court has called for a reply from the Central Government.
Due to the influence of Dalit Panther, Dalit movement and Dalit literature, this word was already on target of the fundamentalist upper castes. All the underprivileged were gathering in the name of the word Dalit, this word became synonymous with struggle.
The High Court on the basis of the petition of Prem Kumar Singh issued an advisory against the use of the word Dalit. The Scheduled Castes and Tribes Department also issued such advisory on the reference of the High Court. Which the people already sitting in the eye accepted the ban and publicized it a lot.
As soon as the word Dalit is banned, all those movements, struggles, literature, self-respect can all be put to rest; Which hurts them. It is the counter-revolution of a revolution. Which Dr. Ambedkar had already warned.
The word Dalit has been coined by people for themselves. Not a word imposed by anyone.
Today a section of Dalits has stood up in support of the ban of this word. He has his own different arguments. They don’t understand ‘their’ goal.
Then a revolution is going to be a victim of counter-revolution.
