देखो कैसे विनाश की ओर चल रहे है हम,
फिर भी नहीं है,हमें यहां अपनी बरबादी का कोई भी ग़म।
बिखरी बिखरी सी लग रही है वो धुन,
कहां है अब यहां राष्ट्रगान में वो सुरों का सरगम?
आजाद होकर भी,आजादी ढूंढ रहे है हम,
“सारे जहां से अच्छा हिंदोस्ता हमारा”यही सुना रहे है हम।
ग़रीबी,भुखमरी,अकाल और बिमारी यहां नाच रही है खुलेआम,
कहां है अब यहां राष्ट्रगान में वो सुरों का सरगम?
पहले लुट लिया गोरों ने हमें सदियों तक,
आज अपनों ने ही कर दिया है जीना हराम।
मंच गया कोहराम खो गई है शांति और अमन,
कहां है अब यहां राष्ट्रगान में वो सुरों का सरगम?
बढ़ती मंहगाई देखो कैसे आसमान छू रही है,
बेरोजगारी सारे जहां में दर-दर भटक रही है।
किस कगार पर खड़े है हम बने हुए बेनाम,
कहां है अब यहां राष्ट्रगान में वो सुरों का सरगम?
मिली आजादी लहू से लथपथ हुई भूमि हमारी,
उसी शहिदों के लिए आज भी अश्क बहाती है ये धरती।
फिर भी बिखरी बिखरी सी लग रही है वो धुन,

Look how we are walking towards destruction,
Still, we don’t have any regret for our ruin here.
That tune is looking scattered,
Where is the gamut of notes in the national anthem here now?
Even after being free, we are looking for freedom,
“Saare Jahan Se Achcha Hindosta Hamara” is what we are telling.
Poverty, hunger, famine and disease are dancing here openly,
Where is the gamut of notes in the national anthem here now?
The whites robbed us earlier for centuries,
Today, their own people have made life haraam.
The turmoil has been lost on the stage, peace and peace have been lost,
Where is the gamut of notes in the national anthem here now?
See how rising inflation is touching the sky,
Unemployment is wandering everywhere.
On what verge are we standing nameless,
Where is the gamut of notes in the national anthem here now?
The freedom we got is our land soaked in blood,
Even today, this earth sheds tears for the same martyrs.
Still, that tune seems scattered,
